This weeks tips from Brand Ambassador John Barnes are for the next round of the FA Cup.
The FA Cup quarter-final is upon us with the eight sides left in the competition just one game away from a visit to Wembley Stadium.
With the prospect of some giant-killings, who better to guide you through the best bets than two-time FA Cup winner and BonusCodeBets ambassador John Barnes – who’s given us his predictions to help you win big this weekend.
Arsenal vs Lincoln
It’s been quite a few days for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, who suffered defeat away to Liverpool before being humiliated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The ‘Wenger Out’ brigade were in full force on Tuesday evening, as pressure grows on the Frenchman’s tenure at the Emirates Stadium. Alexis Sanchez was pictured smirking on the bench after Bayern had scored their fifth and has come in for criticism in recent weeks.
Lincoln, however, are 10 games unbeaten and one win from Wembley, as the feel-good times return to Sincil Bank. Danny Cowley has worked wonders since taking charge and his side are also closing in on a return to League Two, with The Imps six points clear at the top of the National League.
John Barnes’ tip: The BonusCodeBets ambassador thinks that despite Arsenal’s current woes, they’ll have too much for a plucky Lincoln side and is backing them to win comfortably at the Emirates Stadium.
Tottenham vs Millwall
Mauricio Pochettino has his players firing on all cylinders this season as Tottenham look to challenge for the Premier League title once again. Harry Kane is in formidable form and was the hero for Spurs during their victory over Fulham in the last round with a stunning hat-trick at Craven Cottage. The England international looks likely to start once again alongside Dele Alli, with the pair creating a deadly partnership. With Chelsea still clear at the top, this looks to be Spurs’ last chance at silverware this season and Pochettino will want to break his duck in England.
Millwall, however, won’t be pushovers, having claimed two Premier League scalps in Watford and Leicester during this season’s competition. Neil Harris’ side are in good form themselves and are unbeaten in 17, so remain in the hunt for automatic promotion to the Championship. Millwall will take inspiration from Wycombe, who were within minutes of causing a major upset and knocking Spurs out at White Hart Lane earlier this season.
John Barnes’ tip: John thinks Tottenham will just be too strong for Millwall and the FA Cup winner is backing Pochettino’s side to ease past their League One opponents.
Chelsea vs Manchester United
Chelsea look unstoppable at the moment and showed a counter-attacking masterclass against West Ham on Monday. Antonio Conte has his side playing with freedom and confidence, which has taken the Blues to within touching distance of the Premier League title. The Italian would love to claim a domestic double this season and is likely to pick a strong side to face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante were the stars at the London Stadium and look poised to start again at the weekend.
Jose Mourinho loves the competition and is still on for a treble this season, after winning the EFL Cup. While Manchester United may be out of the title race, they can still win the FA Cup and Europa League. Mourinho would also love to get one over on his former side, where things have turned sour despite his previous success in west London. He will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the clash, who begins his three-match suspension for elbowing Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings in a feisty affair.
John Barnes’ tip: The Chelsea juggernaut will keep on going, believes John, and the BonusCodeBets ambassador is backing the Blues to come away as 2-1 winners to book their place at Wembley Stadium for the semi-final.
