Every week we bring you some top betting tips from our Brand Ambassador John Barnes.
With four points separating the Premier League’s top five, we look set for one of the closest, and most competitive title races in history.
Every point could be crucial come the end of the season, and we asked John Barnes to give us his tips for what looks like another absorbing weekend in the Premier League.
Chelsea vs Tottenham
Chelsea put paid to Tottenham’s title aspirations after coming from behind to draw 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in May, extending their undefeated home run over their London rivals to 29 games. The Blues currently sit top of the table after recording six straight wins without conceding, and look well placed to continue that run over a Spurs side who have only won once in their last eight games. However, that win for Tottenham came in Saturday’s last gasp turnaround against West Ham, and Spurs fans would dearly love another derby victory this weekend.
John Barnes Tip: The BonusCodeBets ambassador expects Chelsea’s run over Spurs to continue, predicting a 2-1 victory for the Blues. If you follow John’s tip, you can expect odds of around 7/1 at the bookies.
Liverpool vs Sunderland
After four successive victories, Liverpool fell from the top spot after a surprising 0-0 draw at Southampton. Despite scoring 10 goals in their previous two matches, the Reds couldn’t find a way past Fraser Forster at St Mary’s, but Jurgen Klopp’s men are still very much in the hunt for their first title since 1990. David Moyes’ Sunderland have had a mini revival in recent weeks – taking just two points from their first 10 matches, they recorded back-to- back wins over Bournemouth and Hull to move off the foot of the table. They will have their work cut out at Anfield, however.
John Barnes Tip: The former Liverpool man is backing his old side to ease to victory with a 3-0 win on Saturday. The Reds are the league’s top scorers with 30, and should have enough to beat a Sunderland side that have one win at Anfield since 1983.
Manchester United v West Ham
Both these teams are well below where they’d hope to be this season – Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are already nine points off the title, and Slaven Bilic’s West Ham sit just one point above the drop zone. A win for either will help to get their season back on track, after late goals scuppered them last weekend. United were denied victory by an 87 th minute Olivier Giroud header in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, while West Ham went from winning 2-1 at Tottenham in the 88 th minute, to losing 3-2 after two Harry Kane goals. Any further setbacks this week could see either side’s season go from bad to worse.
John Barnes Tip: John is backing Manchester United to extend West Ham’s misery with a 3-1 win. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice against Swansea before missing the Arsenal draw, and his return could provide the boost United need to claim victory on Sunday.
