OddsRing displays the sports section by default and a horizontal menu bar with links to the casino and games areas of this website. If you are already a customer there are boxes for your email and password and a blue box that has to be clicked showing the word LOGIN. There is a procedure to be followed for customers that have forgotten their password, involving a link sent to the registered email address which is standard for this procedure.
If you are new to this site and would like to open an account you must click on a yellow shaded box displaying the word REGISTRATION. The first step is to enter the OddsRing bonus code if you have one. Basic information is then required and you are prompted to enter the currency in which you would like to operate the account. This screen displays guidelines for specifying a secure password and the strength of the one chosen. Users must confirm they are over 18 and accept the Terms and Conditions. You can then click the Register button to create the account or Clear and start again.
The company behind OddsRing has more than five years experience in the online gaming sector which is significantly more than some of the latest entrants in this sector which is fast developing and highly competitive. In terms of the products within each area you have a good choice of wagering opportunities. The games and markets offered are supported by a team of advisors and fast transactions. One of the main areas in which this site tries to attract you is the ease and speed with which you can make your bets. The range of sports and markets is standard with all the mainstream and some of the more obscure sports featured.
As is becoming increasingly fashionable the owners of OddsRing take a responsible approach to gambling paying special attention to underage access and allowing customers to self-exclude, though the effectiveness of these measures is difficult to assess. You can set limits for deposits and betting amounts over certain periods of time. The message is about taking control and this is consolidated by links to organisations that address problem gambling. Parents are given guidance to prevent illegal use of this site by children below the age at which they are allowed to bet with links to relevant advisory organisations in this field.
The Sports page is displayed by default and the left hand margin show the full list of sports offered. The menu is organised with the three most popular betting sports of soccer, tennis and basketball at the top followed by an alphabetical list of 14 more sports. The sports covered are generally the mainstream betting sports aimed at the UK and European markets. The last menu option is for Outrights which include the main ante betting events for each sport covered in the Sports menu.
The soccer menu displays an alphabetical list of over of 60 leagues including the main leagues in Europe and South America. At the time of writing there were most leagues for German soccer including six regional leagues. All the main Scandinavian leagues are listed but there is only a limited coverage of English soccer. One week before the regular season began there were no match odds for the English Premier League or outrights for any of the major and minor competitions. The pre-season Community Shield match taking place the following day was the only English match included in the soccer offer. In addition to each country specific league there are markets for the Champions League but no mention of the 2018 World Cup or 2016 Euros.
At the time of writing there were 14 markets on the site for the Community Shield match between Arsenal and Chelsea which was the most significant soccer match of the weekend. When you select the league from the navigation menu the competition, time, date, and teams are displayed. The 1X2 odds appear in decimal format but with no facility to convert then into fractional and American odds format. The stake limits for each selection are displayed below the odds. Detailed rules for betting on soccer appear below the match details and odds.
You must click a More button to display the other betting markets for each match. These are categorised as double chance, to win the trophy, over or under several variations on the number of goals, half time 1X2 result, half time/fulltime double result, correct score, both teams to score and first goalscorer. The stake limit for each option is displayed by the side of the odds. Soccer specific betting rules are also shown on this page and replicate the rules shown on the initial match page. No statistics are available for the teams taking part in the match. There are fewer markets for the more obscure leagues but four days ahead of the fixtures only five markets in total for Champions League matches. It is the biggest domestic cup competition in the world with massive TV audiences but only limited betting coverage on the OddsRing site.
Tennis betting appears second in the menu of sports behind soccer which suggest it’s the next most popular betting sport for this company’s customers which is in keeping with overall sports betting turnover within the sector. Odds are displayed for matches in this week and next week’s ATP tournaments, this week’s WTA events and odds for Challenger tournaments. Markets are also displayed for qualifying events and a limited selection of doubles matches. The offer is comprehensive for both men’s and women’s tennis.
In clicking on a tournament you are directed to each match covered. The date and time of the event is shown alongside the player’s names and the two-way match odds. The page displays the words Home, Away and Draw even though there are only two possible outcomes. This is a default list of markets that generally applies to soccer matches but it would not take much to change this to just show the two potential outcomes. Detailed tennis rules are shown and the betting limits for each option. There are no player statistics but a link to more markets such as the number of sets, over/under number of games, correct set score and first and second set winner.
Basketball is third in the list of sports below soccer and tennis. At the time of writing it was the close season in the NBA which is by far the most popular league for basketball betting. There was extensive coverage of the Under-18s European Championships by division and for the playoffs. The only other league displayed was the WNBA, the female version of the NBA in the United States.
After clicking a league you are taken to a page displaying the upcoming matches in that league. This page shows the date and time and the participating teams. The odds for each option are shown with the applicable stake limits but again the words Home, Away and Draw appear on the screen above the odds even though there are only two possible outcomes in basketball match betting. Full rules for the sport appear below the odds and match details but there are no links to statistics.
A More button shows the related match markets, up to 10 for the WNBA. These are listed under the titles of 1X2 after the fourth quarter and before overtime, three Asian Handicaps, total number of points, half time/full time result in regular time, first half 1X2, first half Asian Handicaps, first half odd or even number of points, highest scoring quarter, Overtime Yes/No? and odd or even goals even though in basketball the scoring is done in points.
At the foot of the sports menu is an option for Outrights consisting of ante post or futures markets. The main upcoming events in several sports are shown but very little for soccer despite the fact he site was reviewed a week before the new football season in England. The Premier League generates a massive amount of global and European betting interest and customers would be expecting odds to be available so close to the beginning of the regular season. Ice hockey was the sport with the most ante post markets and there was nothing for the main North American betting sports but big events taking place quite soon in rugby and golf were included in the Outrights offer.
The words LIVE MATCHES are displayed in a green shaded box above the list of sports on the Sports menu. In clicking this box you are taken to a list of current live events which can be displayed by the sports covered for live betting which are soccer, tennis and baseball. The date and time and participating teams or players are shown for each live event with a link to additional markets. The league is shown below the team names and the match situation in terms of time elapsed and current score is also visible. A calendar of events also shows the upcoming fixtures throughout the current and following day. A tick by the side of the event details indicates that is live for betting purposes and the odds will be amended as the play progresses.
The mobile version is useable as an iPhone or iPad application and the site is ready for Android. The cross-platform mobile release of the website features event browsing, the facility to place single and multiple bets, past bet history and full account finance services. A quick installation guide is available for Android devices. The mobile site allows you to bet when in transit on the company’s full range of sports, leagues and markets.
There are a limited number of casino games available on the site through a live application. Real dealers enhance the experience and make it more akin to a bricks and mortar casino. The live platform based on the latest technology allows you to play roulette, blackjack, baccarat and hold’em in a live environment. The offer is limited and less extensive than much of the competition which feature many different versions of the most popular casino games. Games can only be played in a live version of the casino and there are no virtual casino games.
The Games product is much more comprehensive and includes all the popular online games and some that are more obscure. The Games section of the site categorises products by Top Games, New, Bonus Slots, Feature Slots, Table and Other. The games are displayed in no particular order with the name and a colourful and relevant cartoon picture. At the side of each page in the Games section the games that are offering a 100% bonus are displayed in a rolling feature with a link to each particular game. The Games page also displays the existing Casino bonus for existing customers.
The site claims to make placing bets a quick and easy and the process is straightforward and intuitive. You select a sport and league and the choice within each match by clicking on the odds. In the case of multiple bets between 2 and 10 outcomes are added to the bet slip. Once the correct market is displayed you enter the stake and click Bet. In this way there is a one click journey before your bets are accepted. The bet slip shows the potential returns at the odds that apply when bets are placed.
There are 13 payment options including the two most popular credit and debit cards and prominent money transfer methods. There are eight ways of taking out funds from active accounts including the leading cards, money transfer services and bank transfers. There are no transaction fees and transfers are done immediately except for bank transfers which take several days and a small number of money transfer cards. Your transaction history is available for the full term of your active account. For cards there is the added security of a unique password only known to your bank. The transaction options also include popular digital wallets for instant deposits and payouts. There are no deposit and withdrawal commissions taken from account balances, unless those that apply to third party transfer services.
Affiliates can choose between commission and revenue share schemes which both have the following features:
New affiliates follow a simple procedure which involves registering an account, activating the account, applying for approval with relevant business and marketing information, use of banners and specific request for banners and live odds. The revenue share program now applies to the casino and games. Revenues for all products begin at 25% of gross revenue.
Negative balances are not reset but carried forwards from month to month. In that way the affiliates share the ups and downs of online bookmaking with the operator which may not suit every potential affiliate.
On first glance OddsRing looks like a standard online sportsbook and all the regular betting sports are covered. However, there are some major events missing and most sports bettors would expect to see odds for English soccer. It is irritating that each sports market is shown in the Home, Draw, Away format when in several sports there are only two potential outcomes. The Casino offer is limited to the live version of four games though there are is a wide selection of options in the Games section. Other sites have more transaction options but the main services are covered. The affiliate program offers commission and revenue share deals but negative balances are carried forward. The odds margins are standard but the stake limits are relatively small. Responsible gambling is covered comprehensively with links to several relevant organisations and licensing authorities.
