Week three of the Premier League season is upon us, and while some teams are sitting pretty on maximum points, others are yet to even get off the mark.
Once again there’s some cracking games to feast your eyes on and who better to guide you through the best bets than two-time FA Cup winner and BonusCodeBets ambassador John Barnes – who’s given us his predictions to help you win big this weekend.
Liverpool vs Brighton
Liverpool have enjoyed a perfect start to the Premier League season, winning both of their opening games against West Ham and Crystal Palace without conceding.
The Reds’ have been tipped up for a tilt at the title this season and Brighton at home presents a great opportunity to continue that winning run.
Brighton shocked Manchester United last weekend but struggled in their away opener against Watford – failing to even hit a shot on target.
That lack of intent away from home is a worry, with Brighton failing to secure an away win in the league since November 2017 – a 1-0 victory against relegated Swansea.
Liverpool on the other hand have no trouble scoring having already hit West Ham for four at Anfield on the opening day of the season before bagging two away against Crystal Palace.
John Barnes’ tip: Liverpool 3 – Brighton 1. The BonusCodeBets ambassador thinks Jurgen Klopp’s side will make it three wins from three against Brighton this weekend. John is confident his former side can continue to fire in the goals, although he does fancy Brighton to find the net in a 3-1 home win.
Arsenal vs West Ham
Defeat by Chelsea last weekend means Arsenal are yet to secure a point yet this season.
Marcos Alonso scored a late winner in the game at Stamford Bridge to secure the points after Arsenal had impressively come from two goals down to draw level.
But Unai Emery will be hoping that winning feeling is just around the corner as they welcome fellow winless side West Ham to the Emirates Stadium.
Despite spending close to £100million in the summer, West Ham have again struggled defensively, going down to Liverpool (4-0) and Bournemouth (2-1).
Manuel Pellegrini is yet to find his preferred XI and it would be no surprise to see wholesale changes as he looks to unlock West Ham’s potential.
John Barnes’ tip: Arsenal 3 – West Ham 1. The BonusCodeBets ambassador thinks Emery will finally taste Premier League glory this weekend and get their first points on the board. John fancies Arsenal to get the better of their London rivals in a 3-1 win.
Manchester Utd vs Tottenham
Last weekend’s game didn’t go to plan for Manchester United as they suffered a 3-2 defeat by Brighton – a result which added to the pressure already hanging over Jose Mourinho.
The Reds have been less than impressive in their opening two games, although they did get the better of Leicester at Old Trafford on the opening weekend.
Tottenham could be forgiven for letting the saga surrounding their new stadium affect them on the pitch, but instead they are sitting on six points having beaten Newcastle and Fulham.
This game could be their toughest so far this season, but they arrive having seen Harry Kane break his August hoodoo in that Wembley victory over Fulham.
Tottenham failed to make any new signings this summer and although the fans aren’t happy, it means they haven’t had the issue of players ‘gelling’ and it has shown.
John Barnes’ tip: Man Utd 1 – Tottenham 1. The BonusCodeBets ambassador thinks Manchester United and Tottenham will be forced to settle for a share of the spoils with John expecting a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
