The biggest cheer of the weekend may be the return of domestic football following the international break – and it’s a big one, with Liverpool making the trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
Local rivals Manchester City head down to London to face Crystal Palace as they look to capitalise on any potential Liverpool slip with the gap at the top currently standing at eight points.
Elsewhere, reports suggest a win is a must if Everton manager Marco Silva intends to keep his job, with the Toffees facing a West Ham side who sit eighth – five points ahead of the Blues. Everton v West Ham
West Ham had the chance to head into the international break in the top four when faced with Crystal Palace at the London Stadium. However, they fluffed their lines despite going ahead.
It was just the east London sides’ second defeat. But they have struggled to turn draws into wins away from home having settled for points against Brighton, Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Everton on the other hand would love to swap starts with West Ham having won just two of their opening eight fixtures. It’s a run which has seen them slip into the relegation places already.
John Barnes’ tip: Everton 1-1 West Ham
The Bonus Code Bets ambassador expects a tight affair at Goodison Park.
Crystal Palace v Manchester City
Crystal Palace had a nightmare summer transfer window yet have proved to be a bit of a surprise package in the league this season with four wins and two draws leaving them sixth in the table.
They aren’t high scorers, but they dug deep to come from behind to beat West Ham last time out thanks to goals from Patrick van Aanholt and Jordan Ayew following Sebastien Haller’s opener.
However, things will get a lot tougher this weekend when they welcome Manchester City to Selhurst Park. Pep Guardiola’s side can’t afford any slip ups having lost against Wolves last time out.
John Barnes’ tip: Crystal Palace 1-3 Manchester City
The BonusCodeBets ambassador feels the Citizens will get back on track.
Manchester United v Liverpool
At 4/1, there can’t have been many occasions where Manchester United have been such a big price at Old Trafford and with a number of players fighting for fitness, that price is likely to get bigger.
With just two wins from a possible eight, it’s no surprise to see a United side hovering just two points clear of the relegation zone given little chance by bookmakers heading into the game.
Liverpool on the other hand couldn’t have dreamed of a better start and will expect to continue their 100% run to the season having won all eight of their opening Premier League fixtures.
John Barnes’ tip: Manchester United 1-2 Liverpool
The Bonus Code Bets ambassador is expecting the points to leave Old Trafford.
