Paul Parker addresses the leaks at Manchester United as a huge issue and labelled Mark Goldbridge as a problem to the club, with the key social figure being ever-present on social media.
Some of the hot topics off the pitch this season has been the amount of leaks coming from Man United’s dressing room. Paul Parker makes clear that it is a problem for the club, just as he also criticises Mark Goldbridge for his behaviour on Social Media.
Man United has experienced things like injuries getting leaked on Social Media, where especially accounts on X, formerly known as twitter, has been in focus recently.
Parker mentions it as a problem, however he believes that it doesn’t come directly from the players. He also calls out Mark Goldbridge for making money on the back of a club he doesn’t even like.
‘Leaks Are A Massive Problem’
“Leaks are a massive problem at Man United, however they are not the only club who experiences that.
“I can assure you 100% that it never comes directly from a player. But some of the players are maybe frustrated and they will tell their best mate about something that happens in the club and then the friend can’t keep his mouth shut.
“We can always come after the players for snitching on the club to their best friends, but we are all human. We’ve all been frustrated about something at work and then we have told our wife something, who tells it to her mom who tells it to her friend.
“The difference is, that in football it will come out in public and it will hurt the club that you are playing for, so it is a massive problem.”
According to Parker this is not only a problem in football and it comes back to people focusing too much on being important on Social Media.
“In the end, I see it more as a society problem because everyone wants to play a journalist, so a friend of a player would create this account to write something about Man United just to get some cloud and recognition.
“It’s the same in politics and I don’t know how we should deal with it but I just hope that people one day will realise that followers are worth absolutely nothing once you’re old and want to get visits from real friends.”

‘I Don’t Like What Mark Goldbridge Is Doing’

Parker labels what Mark Goldbridge is doing as a problem and adds that it must be a weird feeling to make money on something you don’t like.
“I don’t like what Mark Goldbridge is doing. It’s a problem. Everyone has to make a living but you have to be very, very thick skinned to make money off the back of something you don’t like.
“He has no relationship to Man United, he is a Nottingham Forest fan. It’s an incredible skill to do that, actually. To make money on the back of something you don’t like.
“He is attacking the club, the manager and the owners of a football club that you don’t even love. He has no inner feeling with the club and it’s a scary but incredible feeling to have to be that invested in a club that you don’t support.
Even though Parker sees it as a problem, he is very well aware that a club of Man United’s size will always be interesting because people always have an opinion on the club and its actions.
“But that’s also what Man United are about. It’s a club with a massive story and it’s a story that everyone tries to tap into and be a part of. A lot of people are making money because of Man United but it’s madness. One, they don’t support Man United and to be honest, two, they don’t even like football.
“But it’s a club that everyone wants to talk about and somehow it’s possible to make money from it despite not having a relationship to the club.”
