EUROVISION HOTEL PRICES ANALYSIS

Ahead of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, BonusCodeBets.co.uk analysed the average prices of Airbnb and hotel listings on the day of the Eurovision final to find out how much would fans have to pay to spend the night in Liverpool, the 2023 host city.

According to the analysis of over 4202 listings:

The average price of a hotel in Liverpool on the night between 13th and 14th of May 2023 is £2275, which is €2615.

The average price of an Airbnb in Liverpool on the night between 13th and 14th of May 2023 is £579, which is €665.

In comparison to the average weekend prices, this is an increase in price of 383.4% for hotel listings and 358.6% increase for Airbnb.

A spokesperson for BonusCodeBets says: “We always see a spike in accommodation prices around major events, but the Eurovision prices are unprecedented, which is only a testament to the contest’s popularity and loyal fan base all over the world.”

ACCOMMODATION EXAMPLES

On the expensive side, a private condo in Bootle (3.5 miles from the Liverpool Arena) for the night on 13th of May is currently listed at £3656 (€4166) on Airbnb. On the cheaper side of Aribn, a stay in a campervan located in Merseyside (2.3 miles from the Liverpool Arena) on the same date will cost £67 (€76).

One of the cheapest options on Booking.com is a Bed & Breakfast on Blessington road (3 miles from the Liverpool Arena) for £446 (€508). The most expensive option is a private 120m2 house in Anfield (3.3 miles from the Liverpool Arena), which will amount to £19 832 (€22 598).

The 67th Eurovision contest semi finals are set to take place on the 9th and 11th of May, and the final on the 13th of May 2023 in Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena. This will mark the ninth time that the United Kingdom hosts the Eurovision; the last time the UK hosted was 25 years ago in Birmingham.

METHODOLOGY

  • In total, 4202 Airbnb & Booking.com hotel listings in Liverpool were analysed for the purpose of the analysis
  • The final date was then compared to average prices of one-night accommodation on the same day of the week (Saturday) in the weeks before and after Eurovision
  • The accommodation search was pre-set for 2 adults and area of maximum 10 miles from the Liverpool city centre
  • Date of the final analysis: 15th of March 2023
