Manchester United are facing Brighton in tonight’s game and The Red Devils won in a penalty shootout in their FA Cup against Brighton but this game is going to be differently tough according to the former Man United defender, Paul Parker.

We sat down to talk with Parker about the game and the strengths and weaknesses of both sides, where he leaves a scratching attack on Marcus Rashford and claims that he would prefer Brighton´s front three over Man United´s.

He also pointed out that he expects Brighton to win today’s game against Man United, however a solid defence from Man United could change the expected outcome.

“I expect Brighton to win the game”

Parker doesn´t have a lot of confidence on behalf of Man United in today´s game and expect Brighton to win the game.

“I don’t have a lot of confidence before the Brighton game today to be perfectly honest. I think every Manchester United fan would expect Brighton to win the game.”

“Of course, Man United won in a penalty shootout in the FA Cup but they had to work really hard and I’m expecting this game to be even more tough.”

“It is going to be a seriously, seriously difficult game against Brighton. This is the game that in my opinion can secure Champions League football next season, so Erik ten Hag must be really eager to win the game so he can play the rest of the season without too much pressure and maybe even experiment a bit with the team.”

“If Man United should stand a chance of winning the game against Brighton, ,it will require a rock solid defence just like in the previous game.”

“I would prefer Brighton´s front three – Rashford is poor”

Asked the question, whether Parker would prefer Brighton´s front three over Man United, his answer was crystal clear, while he leaves a scratching attack on Marcus Rashford.

“If you look at it, you would take Brighton´s front three all day long in front of Man United´s. They are more exciting, they have a better end product, they create more chances and they cause more problems for the opponents than Man United´s front three. That’s a fact.”

“You can talk about Rashford’s goals but that’s all you can talk about. He is nothing else than that and there is nothing else to build on to be perfectly honest. He has been poor for a side that is going to be in the Champions League spot. It tells you a lot about his weaknesses.”

“Everyone around Man United must have a lot of confidence now because they have to think about how much they can improve with a good front three. They have been able to almost secure a Champions League spot, so there is a lot to build on when they are going to improve in that area.”

“There is no consistency from the front three. Antony has been the most consistent player. His end product has been poor but everything else about him has been consistent. He is working hard, he is tracking back and he never disappears during a game.”

“Sancho has been very disappointing. Rashford is nothing but goals. The thing is as well that if you rely on one player to score goals, you won’t win a league title. Yes, Man City has Erling Haaland but they have other players that can score goals as well. Great teams are able to spread their goals between more players.”
