What is a Heinz Bet Calculator?

The Heinz Calculator that you can find on this page is a useful tool that you can use to help you work out your potential winnings on bets placed on a selection of sports events. The most common betting markets for Heinz bets are horse racing and football, but you can place it on a myriad of other sports, as well.

A Heinz bet is a pretty complicated wager (that we’ll discuss in greater detail later on) and calculating it by hand would be both time-consuming and potentially erroneous. This is why our Calculator is an incredibly handy tool that will not only save your time but also present you with and error-proof final calculation.

But, first things first. If you want to know how to use this calculator, you need to familiarise yourself with the basics of a Heinz bet.

What is a Heinz bet?

The Heinz bet derives its name from the legendary phrase “57 Varieties” that you can see on Heinz product packages. This bet, also known as a full cover bet, is a multiple bet that consists of 57 bets spread over six selections.

This means that it is made of 57 individual bets (no single bets included), and to place, for example, a £1 win-only bet, would cost you a total of £57.

This is what these 57 bets consist of:

  • 15 doubles
  • 20 trebles
  • 15 four-fold accumulators
  • 6 five-fold accumulators,
  • one six-fold accumulator.

As you can see there are no single bets here, so if you want to have any return, you need to have two selections out of these six to win.

Here’s an example of how a Heinz bet would work. You want to bet on the winners of six different horse racing events. All of them have different odds when it comes to winning, but let’s say, for the sake of our example, that for all of them the odds are set at 8/1.

For your bet to be successful, you need two of those six horses to win. If your individual stake is £1 (and the total consequently £57), this will bring you a total return of £81, and the total profit of £24.

However, if three of your horses win, your total return goes to £972, and total profit to £915. And if you are lucky enough to have guessed all six winners correctly, you would get a total return of £999,945, and total profit amounting to whooping £999,888.

Advanced Heinz Bet Calculator functions

This calculator has some advanced functions that we’ll discuss in greater detail below.

Choose between odds formats

Having the option to choose the format of odds is more than useful. The most common odds types in Europe are decimal and fractional, and whether you prefer one or the other, this calculator gives you the option to select the ones that suit your betting style.

Enter each-way bets

This calculator is also very useful if you want to calculate your potential returns for each-way bets. If you decide to go with each-way bets, this means that a £1 each-way Heinz bet would come at a cost of £114.

Depending on how many winning selections you have, there are quite a few potential returns you can cash in. For example, if you six horses placed in the first three, you could get as much as £1674.

Why use the Heinz Bet Calculator?

The Heinz Calculator is a very convenient tool when you want to calculate your potential returns and be sure that the calculation is correct. Given that there are 57 bets on six selections which are different, calculating all that by hand would not only take a lot of time but could also lead to potential errors.
