Every week we bring you some top betting tips from our Brand Ambassador John Barnes.

With Christmas on the horizon, the Premier League matches are coming thick and fast. With intrigue at the top and bottom of the table, including a much-anticipated derby, we asked BonusCodeBets ambassador John Barnes for his tips on what looks another fascinating weekend of action.

Everton vs Liverpool

The omens don’t look good for Everton, who go into Monday’s Merseyside Derby over Liverpool without a win over their rivals since 2010. It’s been 12 games since Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill scored in a 2-0 Toffees win – back when David Moyes was still in the Everton hot seat. Current boss Ronald Koeman has just overseen a poor run of his own, before Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Arsenal, his side had just one win in 11. However, the manner of that comeback win will give Koeman hope that he can overcome the Reds on Monday.

Jurgen Klopp’s only derby to date was a convincing 4-0 win at Anfield in April, where Liverpool took a remarkable 27 shots to Everton’s two. Despite dropping points to Bournemouth and West Ham, normal service was resumed with a fine 3-0 win over Middlesbrough on Wednesday night, and Klopp will be confident of extending Liverpool’s run over their neighbours across Stanley Park.

John Barnes Tip: Having played in his fair share of Merseyside derby wins, Liverpool legend John is unsurprisingly predicting another victory for the Reds, with a 3-1 scoreline. Liverpool are the Premier League’s top scorers, with 40 goals from 16 games, and could have too much for an Everton side who’ve only kept one clean sheet in 13. If you follow John’s tip, you can expect odds of around 14/1 at the bookies.

Man City vs Arsenal

Two Premier League heavyweights go head-to-head at the Etihad on Sunday, as they attempt to keep pace at the top of the table. Only three points will do for both Manchester City and Arsenal, who thanks to sloppy dropped points, and Chelsea’s relentless form, are losing ground on the Blues in the race for the title. City were shell-shocked by Leicester last weekend, with the Foxes romping to a 4-2 victory.

Question marks remain over Pep Guardiola’s defence. Arsenal’s run of three straight league wins was halted by defeat to Everton midweek, which was a setback as the Gunners search for their first Premier League trophy since 2004. With Chelsea potentially nine points clear by the time these two meet on Sunday afternoon, this is a must win for both if they have serious championship credentials.

John Barnes Tip: John is backing goals aplenty in this side, tipping up a 2-2 draw. Boasting some of the finest attackers in the country, in Kevin De Bruyne and Alexis Sanchez, and with both sides going through some defensive difficulties, we could see the net bulge quite a few times. Both De Bruyne and Sanchez scored in a 2-2 draw between these two in May, and John is expecting the same result again this weekend.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Chelsea’s relentless march over recent weeks continues – since boss Antonio Conte’s switch to a 3-4-3 formation the Blues have won 10 in a row, and opened up a six-point gap at the top of the table. Standing in their way on Saturday lunchtime are a Crystal Palace side who are in a very different run of form. The Eagles have won just one in 10 games – their defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday was their seventh defeat in that time, leaving them dangerously close to the drop zone. Can Alan Pardew’s men stop Chelsea’s winning machine?

John Barnes Tip: BonusCodeBets ambassador John doesn’t think they can, with him predicting a 2-1 win to Chelsea. While the Blues have a goal difference of 22 in their 10 game run, they’ve only managed single goal wins over West Brom and Sunderland in their last two outings, and might find it tough in front of a raucous Selhurst Park crowd. However, John is still backing the title favourites for the win, which is available at around 7/1.
