Every week we bring you some top betting tips from our Brand Ambassador John Barnes.
With the busy Christmas period upon us, many Premier League sides will be hoping their seasons don’t begin to spiral downwards with the games coming thick and fast.
Chelsea are clear of the chasing pack at the top, while a handful of teams are fighting to avoid being in the bottom three heading into 2017.
Every point could be crucial at the end of the season, and we asked John Barnes to give us his tips for what looks another absorbing weekend in the Premier League.
Arsenal v West Brom
Arsenal fell apart last weekend after throwing away the lead against title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. The Gunners looked comfortable in the first half but fell apart as the game wore on with Mesut Ozil criticised for his apparent lack of effort. On the other hand, West Brom are performing above all expectations and sit comfortably in the top half of the table. Tony Pulis’ side were humbled by the in-form Manchester United last weekend and have struggled away from home this season.
John Barnes Tip: HThe BonusCodeBets ambassador expects Arsenal to bounce back at the weekend with a 3-0 win over the Baggies. If you follow John’s tip, you can expect odds of around 15/2 at the bookies.
Leicester v Everton
It’s been a nightmare campaign for reigning Premier League champions Leicester City, as they continue to flirt with the relegation places but Claudio Ranieri’s side look to be improving. After being 2-0 and a man down against Stoke, the Foxes fought back to earn a creditable draw at the bet365 Stadium. It’s not been any better for Everton, who after early season promise, are struggling under Ronald Koeman in recent weeks. The Toffees suffered derby day heartbreak on Monday, when Sadio Mane netted a 94th minute winner to silence Goodison Park. Both sides need to get wins on the board if they’re to meet pre-season expectations.
John Barnes Tip: The former Liverpool man is backing a 1-1 draw on Boxing Day. Leicester will be without the suspended Jamie Vardy, who will be a big miss for Ranieri and Co.
Southampton v Tottenham
Both these teams have impressed so far this season. Southampton thrashed rivals Bournemouth last weekend, thanks to a double from Jay Rodriguez, who has had to be patient after returning from injury. The Saints currently sit seventh and are staying close to the top six in a bid for European football. Mauricio Pochettino’s side did just enough against lowly-Burnley and will need an improved performance on Boxing Day. Christian Eriksen is in top form at the moment and will be watched closely by a tough-tackling Southampton midfield.
John Barnes Tip: John is backing another 1-1 draw with both sides cancelling each other out. Rodriguez is likely to get the nod again and could prove to be a thorn in a solid Tottenham defence.
