This weeks tips from Brand Ambassador John Barnes are for the next round of the English Premier League – Matchweek 36.
It’s the final stretch of the Premier League season with teams fighting out for the title, Europe and to avoid relegation.
Sunderland demotion was confirmed last weekend and Chelsea edged closer to the clinching the Premier League table.
With the prospect of some mouth-watering fixtures, who better to guide you through the best bets than BonusCodeBets ambassador John Barnes? John has given us his predictions to help you win big this weekend.
West Ham vs Tottenham
It’s been two very different seasons for London rivals West Ham and Tottenham, with one failing to hit the heights of last year and the other going toe-to-toe for the Premier League title.
The Hammers were expected to be challenging for European football following their move from Upton Park to the London Stadium but have been flirting with the prospect of relegation throughout the campaign. Although they’re now safe, doubts remain over the future of Slaven Bilic, with many tipping him to leave the club at the end of the season. Two goalless draws on the bounce shows how they’ve struggled in attack since Dimitri Payet left the club and it speaks volumes that midfielder Michail Antonio is top-scorer with just nine.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are in sensational form and are the only club within touching distance of Premier League leaders Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino has his side firing on all cylinders and they breezed past neighbours Arsenal last weekend – making it league nine wins on the bounce. Dele Alli continued his terrific run of goalscoring form and netted his 17th of the season.
With four games to go, Spurs remain four points behind Chelsea but you wouldn’t want to bet against them given their current form.
John Barnes’ tip: The former England international is backing West Ham to put a stop toTottenham’s winning run and all but end their title hopes with a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.
Liverpool vs Southampton
Liverpool fans are still basking in the glory of Emre Can’s sensational winner against Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night. The moment of brilliance masked a dull but effective performance from the Reds, who edged closer to securing a Champions League spot for next season. The return to fitness of Adam Lallana is a welcome boost but doubts remain over Philippe Coutinho, who picked up a dead leg against the Hornets. Jurgen Klopp’s side are four points clear of Manchester United, who have a game in hand in fifth, so can’t afford any slip-ups at this point.
Southampton have nothing to play for after an uninspiring season under Claude Puel. Despite leading them to the EFL Cup final, the Saints sit in ninth – but just three points off 16th. The January summer signing of Manolo Gabbiadini sparked some life back into the side and the Italian has four goals in seven games.
John Barnes’ tip: The Bonus Code Bets ambassador is backing his former side to comfortably win 2-0 at Anfield. You can back the scoreline at 8/1 with most bookmakers.
Arsenal vs Manchester United
This was once billed as a Premier League title decider but it’s now the battle for fifth, with both sides disappointing this season. For years Arsenal had dominated north London but have since been overtaken by Tottenham with fans continuing to turn on Arsene Wenger. As well as the managers, the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil hang in the balance and if the Gunners fail to finish in the top four, it will be hard to see them staying. Their form at the Emirates in recent weeks has been good, winning four out of five, but they face a United side unbeaten in their last 25 Premier League games.
While Mourinho’s men are tough to beat, they’ve failed to inspire and have drawn a large number of games – including last weekend’s stalemate with struggling Swansea. The loss of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a massive blow with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial asked to step up in his absence. Even if United don’t finish in the top four, they remain in the Europa League semi-finals, where the winners are handed a Champions League place.
John Barnes’ tip: Like many of the Red Devils’ games this season, John is backing a 1-1 draw against old foes Arsenal. You can back the 1-1 draw at 6/1.
